Psychology of elderly people interpersonal communication

Theoretical and conceptual grounding as well as empirical study of the structure, mechanisms, factors, features, consistent patterns and ways of development of elderly people interpersonal communication have been made by the author. The author proposed special personal and communicative approach to the study of elderly people interpersonal communication together with its principles. The psychological content of elderly people interpersonal communication has been discovered. The structure, functions, mechanisms, factors and the model of such communication have been defined. By author also have been proved criteria and defined levels and figures of interpersonal communication in elderly age.

The relationships between the elderly person psyche subsystems with the structural components of interpersonal communication have been proved. We have determined the dynamics of elderly people interpersonal communication depending on their ability to adjust the meaning of life and to regulate their emotional states and feelings. Specific features of impact of social and psychosocial factors on constructiveness of elderly people interpersonal communication have been empirically stated. We have defined consistent patterns of elderly people interpersonal communication.

The psychological program for optimization of elderly people interpersonal communication has been developed and its effectiveness has been tested and proved. The psychological practice guidelines for professionals, families and elderly people to improve the efficiency of elderly people interpersonal communication have been proposed.
