Modeling of the stress-strain state of piecewise-homogeneous elastic-plastic structures with intercontact gaps and cracks

The series of scientificworks consists of 25articles and 31conference abstracts and proceedings published for the last 10 years.

The objective of the series of works – to construct mathematical models and to develop the methods of study (elaborated on the basis of apparatus of the theory of complex variable) the stress-strain state of piecewise-homogeneous elastico-plastic structures with intercontact gaps and cracks, and to study on this basis the influence of mechanical and geometrical parameters of components of structural elements with such defects on their strength characteristics.

Scientific novelty of the conducted investigations consists in statement of the problems for piecewise-homogeneous elastico-plastic structures with intercontact gaps and cracks with regard for the mechanical influence of a gas-liquid filler of gaps, interphase plastic sections on the crack extension and the width of an area of contact between crack faces, and development of a technique for investigation of these problems, which is based on the apparatus of the theory of complex variable and Kolosov-Muskhelishvili complex potentials. The formulated problems are solved analytically or they are reduced to systems of singular integral equations, solved analytically or numerically with the use of the mechanical quadratures method, and in order to determine certain contact parameters systems of transcendental equations are written.On the basis of the obtained solutions of the problems, we studied the influence of the loading, the mechanical and geometrical parameters of the components of the structures on the contact stresses, the stress intensity factors, the bending and torque moments and the shearing forces, the width of the area of contact between crack faces, the length of the plasticity zones, the opening in the crack tips, the pressure of the gap filler, the contact approach and compliance of the bodies.

The results of series, which concern a determination of the stress-strain state of piecewise-homogeneous elastico-plastic structures with intercontact gaps and cracks, form a theoretical base to study the contact behavior of technical and natural structures in various gas-liquid mediums and allow us to estimate more accurately the critical load and residual resource of the plate structural elements with cracks after detection of macrocracks at the end of the project operation time or due to inspection. They have prospects to be used in tribology, biomechanics, mechanical engineering and geophysics.

The results of the studies in the work subject are presented in 25 articles, in particular 22 articles in professional journals (6 in foreign journals and translated editions, 2of which are published in journals having impact factor), and 31 conference abstracts and proceedings. According to Google Scholar datаbase, the total number of references on publications of the authors is 25, total h-index is 6.
