German-speaking catholic thought in the second half of 20th century

Presented of the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University Author: Shepetyak O.M., Doctor of philosophical science The task of the research is to study and reveal international experience to achieve inter-confessional and interreligious social consensus, to introduce measures of inter-confessional reconciliation, that could be used for the Ukrainian reality, and extract philosophical and theological basis for the development of religious tolerance. In the context of polyconfessional character of the Ukrainian society and problematic relations between religious organizations, it is extremely important and necessary in religious and social studies, as well as domestic science, to study experience of countries that have already worked their way through it. The subject of the research is German-speaking religious space, because Germany, Austria and Switzerland experienced rigid inter-confessional struggle for several centuries. The research has solved an important scientific problem, in particular innovative ideas in fundamental, Trinity, Christological, ecclesiologic and anthropologic theology and also in social learning of the Church in the period from II Vatican conference till nowadays in German-speaking countries in Central Europe are studied. For this purpose, general philosophical and theological discussions of the second half of the 20th century in the German-speaking countries, conditions of formation of modern religious thought, modifications in the perception of the role and nature of theology are examined, paradigmatic core due to cultural and attitude changes that exists in contemporary religious thoughts is analyzed. The result of the research is the proving of the thesis that religious thought of the second half of 20th century in German-speaking countries is characterized by unitary, anthropology, ecumenism, non-confession, new rationality, openness, sociality and postmodernism. The articles published in foreign scientific journals, national professional editions and collections of international scientific conferences prove the international level of research. The scientific effect of the research is promotion of interreligious understanding, tolerance, inter-confession and intercultural dialogue, deepening of knowledge in European values and promotion of civilization dialogue. Scientific results of the research are shown in 1 monograph and 31 articles. According to the research results, the thesis for completion of a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty "Religious Study" has been made.
