DEVELOPMENT OF ADVANCED COMPOSITE MATERIALS WORKING AT EXTREME CONDITIONS FOR AEROSPACE APPLICATION

Work number - M 73 AWARDED

Presented by the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the NAS of Ukraine

 Authors: Kristina Gusakova, Olha Purikova

Methods for producing of porous and solid composite materials based on high-performance polycyanurates with controlled heterogeneity and adjustable complex of physical-chemical properties have been developed.

Novel polymeric composites based on thermally and chemically stable crosslinked cyanate ester resins with controlled structure formed either by using of different porogen types or pore generation techniques or by dispersing of nanofillers in polymer matrix, have been generated or investigated.

The influence of synthesis conditions and components nature and ratio on structure and basic characteristics of the materials produced has been established.

The materials obtained can be used as effective multifunctional membranes, filters, coatings, adhesives and binders working at extreme conditions and suitable for aerospace application.

The invented nonporous modified thermosetting binder with enhanced values of heat and thermal resistance, storage modulus and extended temperature range of service conditions has been commercialized.

Number of publications: 84, including 33 papers (14 – in international journals) and 51 abstracts of presentations at national and international conferences, symposiums etc. The total number of citations on author’s publications is equal to 39, h-index = 5 (according to SCOPUS) and 60 citations with total h-index = 6 have been found according to Google Scholar database. 8 patents of Ukraine (including 1 patent of Ukraine for invention) have been also published.
