Work number - M 93 FILED

Andriyenko O.V.

The work is devoted tothe analysis of the worldview universals in the context of development of modern democratic society. The definition of the notion of a worldview universal in connection with the notions of worldview, picture of the world, ideology, and etc. has been investigated. The structure and functions of the worldview universals and different criteria of their classification (such as chronological, subjective and objective, historical, cultural, national and ontological criteria and criteria of types of the worldview systems, character of social development and socially-political order) have been defined. Structurally the worldview universals fall into two parts – the main content as their nuclear part and additional meaning as their situational realization. The main functions of the worldview universals can be divided into two groups: general functions (epistemological, axiological and praxiological) and specific functions (ontological, cumulatively-conceptual, heuristic, futurological and socially-cultural). Special attention is accented on the main characteristic features of the worldview universals, among which are systematic, over-biological, historical, cumulative and spiritually-practical character, intentionality and flexibility. It was proved that democratization is not only political phenomenon but also a worldview choice of modern society.

It has been suggested a new approach to the peculiarities of functioning of democratic universals in socially-mythological, morally-religious and philosophical spheres of a worldview. The basic characteristic features of the worldview dimension of personal being of democratic society in the spheres of individual consciousness, political leadership and gender relations. The role of informational, financial and economic factors of forming of the worldview of democratic society has been shown.

The methodological problems of the analysis of axiological basis of freedom, equality, responsibility, tolerance and social justice as the main democratic universals have been investigated. The democratic society was presented as a form of their practical realization.

On the ground of social and philosophical analysis of the worldview and main trends of spiritual, political and economic development of modern eastern and western societies the universal possibility of democracy building independently from the socially-cultural background but according to different patterns has been proved. The research of the phenomenon of post-democracy as an alternative socially-political and worldview model occupies significant place in the work. It was defined as a system which can be characterized both by declaration of democratic universals in their liberal sense and transforming their inner content.
