The purpose – to research morphological, genetic, anatomical, physiological and bioecological characteristics of plants the family of Willow and develop biotechnology of propagation and cultivation for create energy plantations and processing raw materials into solid biofuel.

Offered the scheme of biotechnological process of obtaining plants regenerants Willow family and their adaptation to the open ground, which gives a significant amount of above-ground mass is in the first year of growth. Developed its own universal RAPD-PCR test system for the DNA identification and differentiation of genotypes of P. tremula.

Obtained fundamental results of the research operation of plant mechanisms, that underlying proliferation, cell differentiation, histogenesis, organogenesis and regeneration of the whole organism cultured from tissues and organs S. viminalis, P. nigra × P. balsamifera and P. tremula in vitro and their adaptation to conditions ex vitro.

Тhe scientific work includes priority results in the direction of rational environmental and ensuring energy security by creating and growing energy plantations.

The practical significance of the work is to create a high-performance hybrid of willows, producing a large number of healed, genetically uniform plant materials, which cultivation in vitro for planting energy plantation of willows and poplars and processing of wood, with high calorific value, into biofuels.

The results of research described in 1 monograph, 21 articles in refereed journals (including2in foreign journals), 4 patents and 26 materials and abstracts of scientific conferences. On the subject defended 3 dissertations.

Total number publications of authors includes 56 scientific papers.
