The research is presented by National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.

Research results are presented in two monographs, 32 scientific articles, including 31 articles in professional journals of Ukraine, 2 copyright certificates  and 17 materials and abstracts of scientific conferences.

In this paper authors research the features of functioning of parks as centers of cultural, historical and scientific heritage and ways of their rational use today. Authors also developed new methods of evaluation of cultural and historical value and means of expression of the ideological loading of memorial parks; substantiated evaluation criteria of preservation of historic parks; methodological approaches of determining parks arboretum value and analytical research of usage of park dendrological collections for scientific, cultural and educational purposes. The results of a complex evaluation of parks gives us ability to scientifically substantiate the feasibility and methods of parks territory reconstruction, and to identify areas of the rational usage of parkstoday.

The influence of natural and anthropogenic factors on the formation and the state of park landscapes of the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden (NBG), NAS of Ukraine was investigated for the first time. The results of basic research are focused on solving application issues of minimizing of the impact of the metropolis and developing of phytomelioration measures of park landscapes preservation. Authors investigated the territorial and quantitative differentiation of man-made pollution. NBG plants environmental risk was assessed by integral indicator. We created 74 component NBG monitoring network to continue observation. We recommend special promising species for phytomelioration in order to reduce levels of soil contamination. In order to eliminate influence of pollution air we propose scheme of insulating protection strips. We have also developed  two landscape-therapeutic routes of calming and tonic action to optimize NBG recreational loading.
