The work was aimed at developing the fundamental principles of molecular vitaminology as well as creating new drugs based on vitamins B1, B3, E, D3 for their application in medicine. Achievement of this goal included studying the mechanisms of participation of vitamins and their natural and synthetic derivatives in the integration of cellular metabolism, the creation of new generation vitamin compositions and their implementation.

On the basis of theoretical and experimental researches, the authors have established new principles for the realization of molecular mechanisms of the vitamins biological actionin the human body, namely: the consistency of their action with other natural bioregulators, the role of specific proteins as potential biological targets for vitamins, the participation of vitamins in the regulation of intracellular metabolism in norm and pathology. The results of fundamental research provided approaches for creating on the basis of combined action of vitamins and other biologically active substances new original complexes and compositions as medicines for the treatment of various human pathologies.

The concept of complex vitamin preparations has been developed, according to which the compositions of several functionally related vitamins and biologically active substances, synergistically acting on the main links of cellular metabolism, have a significant advantage in the effectiveness of their action in the human body in comparison with traditional multivitamin compositions. The complex of vitamins with proteins in the composition of drugs ensures their high bioequivalence, bioavailability, the effectiveness of the active ingredients and the ability to be rapidly absorbed by the cells of the body. It is the creation of these drugs, in which the vitamins are in protein-bound form, is an innovative proposal.

Vitamin products (Videin, Metovitan, Calmivid) are registered in Ukraine as medicines. These are powerful drugs whose action is aimed at normalizing disorders of metabolic processes involved in the development of human pathologies. Complex fundamental researches of biochemists, chemists, pharmacologists and clinicians allowed substantiating methodological approaches and developing algorithms for the use of created vitamin preparations. Industrial output of the Videin was carried out by the Kiev Vitamin Plant during 1999-2007. Metovitane is manufactured by the company "Technologist" (Uman) and is sold in pharmacies of Ukraine.
